Saskatchewan oat plantings at 26%, well behind the last year but near the average.

Sask Ag today estimated Saskatchewan's total plantings at 18%. This compared with 54% last year and the average of 26%. 

Seeding of oats ranged from 24% in the major northeast region to 15% in east-central, and 46% in southeastern regions. Northwestern oat seeding is estimated at 10%.

Cropland topsoil moisture rated as two percent surplus, 75 percent adequate, 20 percent short and three percent very short. Hay and pastureland topsoil moisture is rated as one percent surplus, 67 percent adequate, 26 percent short and six percent very short.
